骨鈣素又稱骨R-羥基谷氨酸蛋白(R-hydroxy glutamic acid protein,GLa蛋白),是一種由49個氨基酸組成的蛋白質。它屬于非膠原酸性糖蛋白,是一種維生素K依賴性鈣結合蛋白。它主要由成骨細胞、成牙質細胞合成,還有一些由增生的軟骨細胞合成,在非羧化形式下,骨鈣素在體內起著激素的作用,在胰腺、脂肪、肌肉、睪丸和大腦中發出信號,它在調節骨鈣代謝中起重要作用,是研究骨代謝的一項新的生化標志物,對骨質疏松綜合征、鈣代謝異常等疾病診斷有重要價值。
可檢測樣本中大鼠的BGP;OCN,且與其類似物無明顯交叉反應。
由于實驗操作條件的不同( 如操作者、移液技術、洗板技術和穩定條件等),標準曲線的OD值會有所差異。以下數據和曲線僅供參考,實驗者需根據自己的實驗建立標準曲線。

在選取的健康大鼠血清、血漿、細胞培養上清中加入3個不同濃度水平的大鼠BGP;OCN,計算回收率
分別在選取的4份健康大鼠血清、血漿、細胞培養上清中加入高濃度大鼠BGP;OCN,在標準曲線動力學范圍內進行稀釋,評估線性。
